Javier Grillo-Marxuach has a lot to answer for, he goes and gets me hooked on his quirky some may say silly series The Middleman only to have it axed after one mere season. So what was it about The Middleman that was so special? Was it the over the top cheap special effects? The amusing pop culture referencing throughout? How about those silly villains in each episode? What about Wendy Watson, awesome sidekick?
Why it was all of the above of course. I think I need to get out my DVDs and give them a re-watch, after all what other show offers such well written lines as: “Well la-di-da, Dubbie. You must be mistaking the Clan of the Pointed Stick for one of the rational societies of paranoid celibate martial artists.”
Everytime I drink a big glass of milk I too think fondly of Middleman.
I miss Middleman very much also.
