A Piece of the Wasteland
As a long-time Fallout fan, this was a project I couldn’t resist.
I recently 3D printed a Fallout 10mm pistol, one of the most iconic weapons from a franchise I’ve loved for years. From wandering the wastes in the games to enjoying the recent TV series, Fallout has always been one of my favourite worlds to get lost in.
One of the best things about this print was how cleanly it came off the printer. The model was printed as a single piece, and the result was fantastic straight off the build plate with very little cleanup required.
After priming and painting, the pistol really started to come to life. Weathering and detailing it was a lot of fun, bringing out that worn, post-apocalyptic look that makes Fallout’s designs so distinctive.
Now it has earned a permanent place on my geek shelf in the office, sitting proudly among lightsabers and other gaming collectibles. It’s a simple display piece, but every time I look at it I’m reminded of countless hours spent exploring vaults, battling raiders, and getting distracted by side quests I absolutely didn’t need to do.
A great print, a fun paint job, and a little piece of the wasteland now living in my office. Not bad at all.
